Statement on AI: I have not, and will never use generative AI to write or edit my books. I don’t want to read it, so I don’t want to use it. This isn’t a value judgement on other books which use-

Actually, yes. Obviously it’s a value judgement. AI is destroying our environment and our faith in reality. Whenever it creates something of beauty, that creation was stolen from real, human artists.

Creating is hard. And starting a new skill from the ground floor is really hard. But you can’t skip that “crappy beginner” phase to get to the good stuff. Be proud of the efforts you make, even if it doesn’t look “polished.” Your human intuition and skill is beyond anything AI could possibly create. You are amazing. Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments.
